Dear Lucy Treene,
I’m not sure if you will remember me or not, so I am enclosing a picture. I work in a dental office and realize how difficult it can be to remember every patient that you have seen.
Anyway, the reason I am writing is to thank you for the excellent care that you gave me on that one and only visit to your office. I was amazed at the amount of time that you spent with me, how you listened and genuinely seemed to care about all that I have been through in the past year. You even did a sonogram for me, without charging me for it, so you could get a better idea of what was going on with me. Then you called in Dr. Simon, whom I didn’t have an appointment with, and he spent time examining me also, at no extra charge. The two of you together told me that I would need a surgical approach to my problem and then proceeded to make a phone call to get me in to see someone as soon as possible. When I left there I had an appointment two days later to see Dr. Andrew Sokol at the National Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgeries.
I wasn’t happy with the answers I got that day as I had already had this surgery in January of 2010 to fix the problem and the thought of going through it all over was very upsetting.
I did have the surgery on Dec. 4th and I am at home recuperating now. It went very well. Now that it is over I am in a better frame of mind and I know that as soon as I am able, I will be back to my active and healthy self. I am so thankful that I was directed to your office and that you guided me in the right direction, to Dr. Sokol. He is a wonderful surgeon. He is very optimistic about the outcome of my surgery and I’m excited about that.
I am 52 years old and I have been to many doctors through the years, and most are good doctors who seem to care. I can honestly say though, that you and Dr. Simon are more caring and compassionate than any doctors I’ve ever been too. You have, for decades, gone above and beyond what you needed to do as a physician for me and I am eternally grateful to you. I will be forever grateful to you for the excellent care that you treated me with. I hope that you enjoy this holiday season and that you have a blessed and abundant new year in 2011.
